Australia
So glad you have found us. We are a nomadic family of 9 travelling Australia with our six daughters, and our one son and forever missing our precious daughter Serenity who went to be with Jesus at 13 hours old on 12 March 2011. Her short life has changed our lives forever! As we travel we perform at shows, festivals and fundraisers with our dogs, help out on farms and also sell handmade woodcraft, dog collars, leads and capes. We are also doTERRA wellness advocates. Follow our joys and trials here.

Sickies!

Rough night last night, Suzanna (3) who went to sleep with a slightly raised temp, woke at around midnight screaming!  Night terrors are not uncommon for her when she has a temp.  She screamed so loud she woke everyone except one!!

Not sure how much sleep we all got ... but woke at around 9am to Jessica (13) throwing up!!

Sarah has a cold, Michael is fighting the beginnings of one, Chantel (11) had a headache and now a stuffy nose, Jasmine (14) also has the beginnings of a cold!!  Suzanna, Gabrielle (5), Jireh (1) and Chana (8) are all ok!

Life on the road is not all BBQ's and Beaches ... unfortunately real life happens no matter where or how you live!

Move on or I'll call the council or the police!

Is it the size of the RV (38 ft), the number of children (7), the number of dogs (3) that make people ask us to leave?  Twice this week we've been asked to move on.  The first time we were in a free camp area where we had been told last year that you could stay for up to a week.  We arrived in late Friday, set up the awning on Saturday morning and prepared to stay for the weekend!  Later that morning someone official came and told us they had a complaint that our dogs had barked and annoyed someone who was walking.  Sure two of our over friendly dogs had run up to a couple but they'd returned to us when we called them!  The official then added that this was only an overnight stop!

We got them to allow us to stay for Saturday night as well.  It was annoying though as there is nowhere in this area that you can stay free for more than 24 hours!

On to today .... we were parked on council land doing our washing at the laundromat.   There is a netball court there too and a playground.  We were parked next to the playground.  Soon enough the netball supervisor came over and without as much as a good day or a smile told us we'd have to move as they had a netball game on and needed all the parking!  She even said if we didn't move she'd call the council or the police to move us on!!  I told her we were waiting for our washing.  "You have to move by four o'clock!"

I came inside and found the phone number for the local council and rang them and asked if she had the right to tell us to move and would they come and move us on.   To cut a long story short ... she had no right to tell us to move and the council would not move us on!  We moved anyway as we don't like to cause a kerfuffle in the community!!

It seems to happen a lot on the east coast ... go just west of the dividing range and they welcome travellers.  Can't wait to be done in this town!

Hello From the not yet famous 9!!

We are a family of 9, plus 3 dogs, plus 1 cat!  We are currently living in a semi-converted school bus.  We have been full time RVing for just over 3 years.

I am currently working on writing up a review of the last three years ... will post it here sometime.

Our family consists of 6 daughters aged 14, 13, 11, 8, 5, 3 and a son aged 20 months. We would also have another daughter who would be 3 months but sadly she left us at 13 hours old.

Our dogs are Sparkie 2 1/2 years old, Tess 2 years and Lassie 1 year.  The girls have taught them a lot of tricks and we recently performed at the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival in Queensland.  We hope to do more of this as we travel round.

Our cat is Gyvie (short for MacGyver who was the big hit at the time he was born).  Gyvie is about 3 months old.

We teach our kids as we travel using mostly an unschooling approach.  They all have a love of learning which we foster. The oldest four do reading/writing on a daily basis and maths most days.  The 5 year old is always hastling me to teach her to read!  Our education philosophy is "If you can't learn it in real life then you probably won't use it in real life".
